7th Annual Mysore Yoga Traditions Online Conference - February 3-12, 2025

from $20.00

Samskriti Foundation, Ashtanga Yoga Studio, Om Shala Yoga & Bryce Delbridge are collaborating to create a very special online & in person event!

The Mysore Yoga Traditions Conference is a sincere conversation between cultures. This conference is an extremely unique opportunity to learn about the history and philosophy of yoga from the brilliant Sanskrit scholars and Yogis of Mysore, India- the birthplace of modern Yoga. Even if you have studied yoga for decades, this conference will open a whole new dimension and give a deeper insight into the community that gave us Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, and the vast majority of yoga practices in the west that have derived from this tradition.

This conference was born out of the documentary film “Mysore Yoga Traditions” which was created in 2016 by Andrew Eppler and a close group of friends- Joey Paz, Kelly O’Roke, Bryce Delbridge, and Dallos Paz. Since the creation of the film, we have spent each year traveling to India, cultivating a strong relationship with the yogic and scholarly community of Mysore. This annual conference is the result of this fruitful and continually deepening relationship. For the whole story and background on this film, and the conference that was born out of it, feel free to check out

The 7th annual Mysore Yoga Traditions Conference will be a hybrid event, in-person, online and available to the whole world!

This is more than just a conference. It’s a conversation between cultures as top scholars share deep yoga philosophy with the Western world. No one knows the history and philosophy of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga better than the Sanskrit community of Mysore!

From the origin of the Ashtanga sequences that have had a huge impact on yoga worldwide, to the philosophical foundations of this global practice, all questions can be answered.

Senior Sanskrit scholars from the Maharaja's Sanskrit College and around Mysore are collaborating with us to create a unique experience for the international yoga community. This retreat will provide an authentic, authoritative, behind the scenes look into the fabric of yoga culture in Mysore. The scholars of Mysore are not selling a brand of yoga or anything else. They simply share their views about what yoga means to them, and what western practitioners can do to advance further into yoga. This is an opportunity for us to mature our yoga practice beyond simply practicing postures.

Experience the richness and beauty of Mysore’s scholarly community firsthand!

CONNECT WITH THE WISDOM OF MYSORE

In today's yoga world, many foreign yoga practitioners would like to feel connected with an ancient tradition through Yoga. We believe that learning the philosophy of yoga directly from the elders of Mysore can help us come closer to this tradition.

The Yoga of Mysore has been debated for decades. What is traditional? What isn't? How can we participate in this tradition or Parampara? The compassion, sincerity, academic brilliance, and deep reverence for yoga among the scholars of Mysore will leave you stunned.

The scholars of Mysore carry vast knowledge of all systems of philosophy, both Eastern and Western. Their messages can truly inspire us and evolve our understanding of the Yoga we all love to practice.

After several decades of practicing the fiery yoga taught in Mysore many foreign practitioners are curious about the roots of these practices. Mysore has so much more to teach us! Ask the questions you have always had in person directly to the people who can explain best. There is a deep love and wisdom among the yogis and scholars of Mysore that will warm your heart and inspire you to move deeper into your yoga practice!

MYSORE HOLDS MUCH WISDOM! EXPERIENCE THE RICHNESS AND BEAUTY OF MYSORE'S YOGA COMMUNITY FIRST HAND

We believe that learning the philosophy of yoga directly from the elders of Mysore can help us come closer to the tradition that many of the yoga practices around the world came from.

In today's yoga world with the onset of Covid and the mental and emotional challenges that it brings, these yoga teachings are inspiring and helpful for the international yoga community.

The Yoga of Mysore has been the subject of much debate. Many yoga practitioners have questions and this is an opportunity to speak directly to people who are fully qualified to answer them.
